Hey !! As the oldest sister how come no one told me we were having a dialogue here??? Here's my take, at this point it doesn't matter who made the mess, someone needs to clean it up,,, Whistle(that is ,,,Virginia) has the guts and fortitude to do so,,, she wasn't nicknamed "Custer" by our family for being a shrinking violet!!
Get out and vote for her on Tuesday, she has the smarts and vision to follow through on her campaign platforms and ideas....

Virginia:
Uhhhh, thanks Sue, I think.

Virginia is strong on education and will fight for the funding Groton- Dunstable and other schools need in these difficult times. Go Virginia!

Hi Whis-
Older sister here- are you going to comment on this forum? How would you have voted today had you been in the BIG house...by that I mean the other big house- the congress?
As a rep with an mba, I think your help would be invaluable. Personally I think Al Qaeda is behind this financial mess, they wanted to ruin our banking and free market system long ago...good luck and please fill us in...apw

Virginia Wood:
Hey Peters - You always did have a vivid imagination. I guess that's why you are such a good painter - and doctor - because you can imagine the pain of your clients (cats and dogs). You know how Ma and Dad have always disliked the folks who ran AIG - in 10 years I never heard a good word about them - so I would have been hardpressed to help them out. But, the fact of the matter was, it was not so much about individual companies as it was about the stability of the economy. And for that, assuming enough safe guards are in place to protect us tax payers, I would have gone along with the bailout. Certainly not a good spot to be in. It is unfortunate the Republicans pushed so hard for deregulation and created this mess.

I'm her mother and I should know. My daughter is one determined person and she will do all that she has said she would if y'all would give her a vote November 4.

VOTE FOR THE DEMOCRATS
Republicans! Shoo! You've left enough
of a mess!

Jay Wood:
I'm her brother....yup that's me in the groovy pants. I would like to kindly remind my mother that in both Massachusetts and the US Congress it's the Democrats who are in the majority. If there's any mess left behind, I would suggest she look at her reps such Barney and Teddy who are ultimately responsible for today's banking/mortage mess.

ArtC:
Actually, Jay, I was under the impression that it was the (Republican) Bush administration that had implemented the removal of regulation and SEC supervision that led to the current financial crisis. Thanks for clarifying...
P.S. Nice pants!

JayW:
Art, There's plenty of blame to go all around on this, but it was actually under the Clinton Administartion that deregulation kicked in. Though spearheaded by Republican Phil Graham, the eventual repeal of Glass Steagal and other derugation moves was supported by Bubba (who yesterday admitted it was a mistake).

What really becomes problematic in this new unregulated lending environment is the push from Barney F. and other lefties stating that everyone is entitled to a house. THIS IS FREAKN'INSANE! Banks were writing loans to people who have no financial justification to be even considered. Infact I heard anecodotal eveidence that some loans have been written to people on welfare. Thanks Barney. Oh, and by the way how about you and your buddy Chris Dodd fessing up to sweetheart deals you had with Fannie Mae that Bush actually tried to put under the Treasury Dept. in 2003?

P.S. The pants were from my younger years as a liberal.....I've matured quiet a bit since then.

Chris Wood:
Yup! Jay was once a wild liberal!
Jay, you read and know enough to see that there is a middle point in everything. Would you really like to see that nimcompoop from Alaska to be PRESIDENT? This could really happen if McCain is elected. Send that old soldier back to AZ to play golf and help your sister, who has a good chance of beating the do-nothing incumbent, get elected! $$$$ helps. XXMa

Virginia Wood:
As you can see, it was always fun around the dinner table at the Wood household. Opinions and healthy debate were encouraged. My brother and I disagree on pretty much everything. But I really love his daughter who is working hard on behalf of Obama. Now Jay, don't you have better things to be doing with your time?

Great website, and a great campaign! With Virginia Wood as State Representative, the people of Ayer, Dunstable, Groton, Pepperell, and Townsend will truly know what it means to have effective leadership, a legislator who will actually be able to deliver for her district. Good luck!

Virginia has always brought energy and commitment to her positions as Selectman and Planning Board member. We need this in our Representative to the State House. I know you will be a great Representative.

I endorse Virginia on her platform of commitment to protecting our environment while still balancing the often-conflicting needs of heating our homes and creating new jobs.
